| We started in Grasmere and took the Easedale Valley and Sour Milk Gill up to Easedale Tarn, a fairly gentle and picturesque route in glorious sunshine. The path became steeper as we passed Codale Tarn, with some scrambling in places, but we eventually reached the top with good views of Stickle Tarn and Pavey Ark. From here we headed north-west towards Sergeant Man, 736 meters, where we had lunch. We then headed across the bog towards White Stones, and were rewarded with fantastic views across to Honister Pass and down to Keswick over Drewentwaters. From here we traversed the bogs again to join the Coast-to-Coast route down Far Easedale Gill, under Helm Crag, on our return to Grasmere. |
